Good concert...poor venue
"A good chap and great artist, The B-52s. Was hoping that the final concert would be a great way to pay respects to a lifetime of their artistry. Even with great seats at Chase Field, unless you were on the field, you were such a very long way away. A speck without the video, they were. The sound quality was the biggest disappointment. Loud, yes. Lacked clarity and vibrance, overdriven to the point of distortion a number of times. Chase was never designed with acoustics and its odd shape and cavernous size made for a really poor acoustical performance. It was just super loud to make sure people a quarter mile up in the seats could hear them. The dancing that had started initially, stopped after the first song and with a few exceptions, never happened again. We had good seats but a poor experience. I appreciate The B-52s immensely and am glad to have had the opportunity to go. Unless you were on the field, even with great seats at Chase Field, you were such a very long way away. However, I would not trust a concert at that venue again."
